Washington state playwright Judith Barrett Lawson’s play I Smile at the Sun is touted as “A play for children and misidentified grownups.” Fourteen misidentified adults will bring Lawson’s delightful poems to life. Her writing has been compared to the likes of Shel Silverstein and Dr. Seuss. It is both playful and poignant. This play, suitable for children and adults (misidentified or not), will make you smile, reminisce about your own youth, laugh out loud and wipe a tear from your eye.
Readers Theatre is a paired down version of a production where there are no sets, costumes, or props and the performers read directly from the script. It is designed to be a focus on the words of and story of the playwright.
