PORT ANGELES – William Shore Memorial Pool Director Steve Burke has announced the timing and route for moving The Horizon Center building to its new location.
In order to make room for the pool expansion, the building is scheduled to be moved Thursday morning, May 9 at 8:00 from its current location at 5th and Lincoln to its new home near 8th and Lincoln.
The route that contractor D B Davis will take will be south along Chase Street and then west on 8th. While not the most direct route, this will avoid causing too much disruption to busy Lincoln Street traffic.
A statement from Burke says the move could take as little as two hours or as much as six hours, depending on Wave Cable’s and Century Link’s process of lifting the overhead lines that cross Chase Street along the way.
