SEATTLE (AP) — A Washington state man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for crashing his car into a Boeing Company plant gate and critically injuring a security guard.

28-year-old Peter Phommasak received the sentence after pleading guilty  Monday to five charges including vehicular assault and hit-and-run.

Police say that in April 2018 Phommasak was a suspect in an assault at a park and was being pursued by police when his car crashed through the Boeing gate in Renton and injured the guard.

Phommasak faces the possibility of almost years in prison.

He was ordered to pay restitution, not to drink alcohol or consume marijuana after his release, and was banned from driving for 10 years.
