PORT ANGELES – Port Angeles firefighters extinguished a second-story apartment fire this morning near the corner of 19^th and N Streets. No one was injured, but police soon after were asking for the public’s help in locating a person of interest who was seen leaving the area of the fire just as flames were erupting.

Denise Kovacovic (pictured) was said to have left the scene without shoes,  and police added that she might benefit from behavioral health services.

Kovacovic was located just after noon today and investigators said she was taken in for questioning.
