PORT ANGELES – After a huge success with last season’s Port Angeles Winter Ice Village, the village will return again next year.

Organizers say it will probably be bigger and could run longer.

The Port Angeles Regional Chamber of Commerce organized the ice-skating rink in downtown Port Angeles that ran from the end of November through January 6th.

Chamber executive director Marc Abshire told the Port Angeles Business Association this week they just debriefed from last year’s event and are already planning for this season.

The Winter Ice Village cost about 180-thousand dollars, but due to donations and hundreds of volunteer hours, the chamber turned at 29-thousand-dollar profit on the event. Abshire says that money is being put into the next village.

He’s unsure exactly where the rink might be located next year.
