SEQUIM – The City of Sequim will be looking for a new City Councilmember soon. At Monday night’s council meeting, Pamela Leonard-Ray announced she’ll be stepping down at the end of the month. Mayor Dennis Smith says Leonard-Ray will be moving to Nevada to assist in caring for her parents:

Leonard-Ray’s term expires at the end of 2019. Her successor will be appointed by the council. While there will be a candidate application process, Smith says that earlier in the year, when Jennifer States was selected to replace the late John Miller, they had a very talented field of candidates:

City Clerk Karen Kuznick-Reese told us she’d have a candidate application on the City’s website by the end of the month.
