SEQUIM — The Sequim Farmers and Artisan Market (SFAM) has appointed Layla Forêt as its new Market Director.

Forêt joined SFAM in 2023 and became Marketing Manager in 2024. In that role, she managed social media, local editorial content, advertising campaigns, community outreach, and fundraising efforts.

According to SFAM President Eric Pickens, Forêt’s background in marketing and commitment to local agriculture makes her well-suited to lead the market.

Forêt’s professional experience includes roles at the University of Oregon, where she contributed to food and sustainability initiatives and managed communications for federal education programs. She also led communications for The Nature Conservancy in Canada, focusing on conservation and agriculture. She is pursuing a master’s degree in communications and leadership from Gonzaga University.
