SEQUIM – On Tuesday afternoon at around 12:40, Fire District 3 units were dispatched to reports of a house fire where they discovered a deceased person inside.

Arriving units found heavy smoke coming from the home and successfully put the fire out. After the discovery of the body, deputies and the coroner’s office were called in.

Clallam County Chief Criminal Deputy Amy Bundy told KONP the fire, which was in the 100 block of Barnes Road in Sequim, is not considered suspicious in nature and there is no concern of foul play.

Bundy said the investigation is still open and she has not received the report from the fire investigator.
