Port Angeles – This Saturday, the City of Port Angeles, in partnership with program creator Paul Forrest, will host the second annual City Shade Street Tree Program Distribution and Community Planting Event. All of those free trees that residents signed up for this summer will be distributed and planted over the weekend.

Up to 236 size-appropriate trees will be planted within public rights-of-way.

The distribution event will begin at 10am at the City Hall Covered East Entrance and East Parking Lot on 5th Street, and all trees must be picked up by noon.

There will be some opening remarks from City officials and creator of the City Shade Street Program, Paul Forrest. And something new this year, there will be on-site registration and pick up available for the remaining 36 street trees. Keep in mind, in order for city staff to ensure they can verify eligibility at this event, all new registrants must be homeowners.
