SEQUIM — The Sequim Wolves football team has one of the biggest home games in several years. The 2-1 (4-2 overall) Wolves will host the Olympic Trojans, also 2-1 (4-2 overall). The Trojans beat Bremerton last Friday night, 24-14.
Olympic had a close loss to state power Kings, 40-37, and narrowly fell to Bainbridge, 18-14, after a controversial scoop-and-score play. The Trojans also defeated North Kitsap for the first time since 2015, 27-12.
The Trojans are a dual-threat offense and have two quality running backs. Riley McCoy, a 5’9″, 190-pound senior, has rushed 60 times for 589 yards, averaging nearly 10 yards per carry, with 9 touchdowns. Chance Webster, a 5’11”, 185-pound junior, has 73 carries for 530 yards, averaging 7 yards per carry, with 3 touchdowns.

Quarterback Antonio Castrorena, a 6’2″, 185-pound senior, has completed 37 of 60 passes for 401 yards and 4 touchdowns. The Trojans use four wide receivers, led by Jonny Mack, a 5’6″, 170-pound junior, who has caught 7 passes for 88 yards and a touchdown. Gavin Wells, a 5’11”, 170-pound junior, has 4 catches for 78 yards and a touchdown.
Olympic quarterback Antonio Castorena is also an outstanding pitcher for the Trojan baseball team
On defense, the Trojans are led by middle linebacker Michah Kazes, a 5’11”, 180-pound senior, who has recorded 33 tackles, 4 for losses. The Trojans average 27 points per game while giving up 16. The Wolves average 19 points per game while allowing 18.
The game will be broadcast on KONP Newsradio, with the pre-game show starting at 5:30 p.m. and kickoff at 6:30 p.m. Oly Archibald and Greg Thomas will have the call.

In tennis action today, Bremerton is at Port Angeles, and Sequim will host North Kitsap. Both matches start at 4:00 p.m.

In soccer, 5-4 Port Angeles will face 1-8 Olympic, and 3-5 Sequim will play 9-0, fifth-ranked Bainbridge. Both games kick off at 7:00 p.m.
