SEQUIM — A Sequim man was arrested this week following a drug investigation.

61-year-old Robert A. Yeater was taken into custody by OPNET on Wednesday and booked into Clallam County Jail on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver methamphetamine.

The investigation began on July 3 when a Sequim Police officer responded to a report of a man leaving a cigarette box containing 29.74 grams of suspected methamphetamine near Highway 101 and River Road. Video evidence identified Yeater as the driver. An OPNET detective confirmed his identity, recognizing the behavior as an attempted drug delivery.

Yeater had previously been arrested in May after a search of his vehicle revealed 10 grams of methamphetamine, packaging materials, and a scale. He also had two active warrants, including one for failing to appear in court regarding the May arrest.
