SEQUIM – Greywolf Elementary School in Sequim went into lockdown Thursday morning due to some law enforcement activity in the area.
Sequim school officials sent a notice to parents at about 10:30 a.m. that Greywolf Elementary was notified by the Clallam County Sheriff’s Department of some kind of law enforcement activity in the area. In response, Greywolf campus transitioned into a shelter-in-place status and staff were notified to keep students inside the building.
We reached out to the Sheriff’s Office for any information they could give us on the situation and received this reply from Chief Criminal Deputy Amy Bundy.
“We had probable cause to arrest an individual who took off on foot prior to us locating him. The individual was suffering from a mental health condition and had unpredictable behavior. I alerted the school as a precaution. We have since located and arrested him so there is no cause for further alarm.”
