PORT ANGELES — A bit of a respite from the wild weather today but get ready for a new round of cold weather.

Yesterday’s blustery winds knocked out power for hundreds of customers across the north Olympic Peninsula. High tides coupled with the heavy gale pushed marine debris on local beaches. Water and debris over the road closed the road to Ediz Hook in Port Angeles.

Forecasters say expect rain showers today and winds subsiding. Then cold weather moves in tomorrow. We could see a couple inches of snow Thursday night. The cold temperatures will remain in the area through the weekend. Highs are not expected to reach above the upper 20’s through Sunday.
