PORT ANGELES – There was a power outage Thursday morning for more than 260 Port Angeles City Light customers.

Public Works Director Mike Healy explains what happened.

“At about 3:30 this morning, a truck going down to make a delivery at the mill ran into some low-hanging phone lines that, when he hit those and dragged them, they fell into our lines, causing a power outage for about 200 and, I think, 64 customers. It was out of our I Street substation, and it took out the Coast Guard for a little bit. They were up on emergency power. But yeah, at about 7:00 we got everybody back in service.”
