PORT ANGELES – Clallam County Commissioners announced this week that they have made a conditional offer of employment to Todd Mielke of Spokane to be our next County Administrator.

Mielke was selected from a pool of several candidates. A news release says he has a master’s degree for Business Administration and a bachelor’s degree for Business Administration Finance and Operations Management and Accounting.

Mielke has served in various positions in Spokane County including CEO of the Spokane Chamber of Commerce, County Commissioner for three terms, and his most recent position as the Chief Administrative Officer with the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office.

Human Resource Director Rich Sill says they will be finalizing their background investigation on Mielke, including sending a team to Spokane to meet with people who know or have worked with him. If all goes as expected, they’ll finalize the hiring process.

Sill says an official start date has not been determined. He did say that although all of the finalists performed well, Mielke was a clear standout in the testing process.
