SEQUIM — A public memorial for a fallen local firefighter happens tomorrow.

The ceremony for 46-year-old Clallam County Fire District 3 Capt. Charles “Chad” Cate begins at 12:30 Saturday at Sequim High School.

Cate was found dead in his firehouse bunk January 12^th. He was a Sequim native, had worked for Fire District 3 since 1997, and was the wrestling coach at Sequim High School among many other community activities.

Organizers say they expect a thousand people may attend the ceremony and upwards of 100 fire and emergency vehicles to take part in a procession.
