PORT ANGELES – The Clallam County Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating the disappearance of a 33-year-old mother of two from Port Angeles that allegedly vanished from a McDonalds in Santa Monica, California in September.
Jacqueline Cary, who goes by Jackie, was reported as a missing person to local law enforcement on October 10, but her family says they haven’t heard from her since September 6.
It was reported that in August of this year, Jackie traveled to California with a male acquaintance Kevin Caynor, also of Port Angeles. Caynor returned to Port Angeles in September without Jackie.
Sheriff’s detectives have interviewed Caynor, who says he last saw Jackie in California near the end of August or beginning of September. He says they were sleeping in his car at a McDonalds parking lot near Santa Monica. When they woke up, Jackie was angry. He says Jackie got out of his car and was throwing things at him, including a knife, so he drove away. A short while later, Jackie sent him a message to come back and get her.
According to Caynor, when he returned Jackie was gone. He says he couldn’t find her, so he drove back to Port Angeles. Caynor also reported getting messages from Jackie’s phone during the beginning of September, but nothing since.
