PORT ANGELES – Clallam County’s unemployment rate has remained steady for the past two months.

According to the state, the county’s rate was at 6.6 percent for both January and February. It’s about two percent lower than last year in February.

The stats show about 25 hundred more people are considered employed in Clallam County this past February compared to February 2021. The number of people in the labor force has also gone up by about three thousand people.

Neighboring Jefferson County’s unemployment rate has also remained steady at six percent the first two months of the year.

Statewide, the unemployment rate is 4.7 percent.
