
It’s a big night for area basketball teams. Kasey Ulin’s 8th ranked Port Angeles Roughriders will host the Bainbridge Spartans at 7pm. The Roughriders are 7-3 overall and 5-0 in League play. The Sequim Wolvesf boys’ team has the night off. The Wolves will host Kingston Thursday night at 7 pm. The Wolves are 3-9 overall and 2-6 in league play.
Mike Poindexter’s Lady Roughriders hit the road tonight tipping off at Bainbridge at 7 pm. The Roughriders are 7-6 overall and 6-1 in league play. The Sequim Wolves ladies will host the North Mason Bulldogs tonight with the tip off at 5:15 pm.
In NWAC action on Wednesday night, the Peninsula Pirates will host a doubleheader with Whatcom. Allison Crumb’s 5th-ranked Pirates host sixth-ranked Whatcom. The teams are tied for first place in the Northern Division with 2-0 records. The Pirates are 11-2 overall and have won six straight games. Tip off is set for 5 pm. The Pirate men will then take on Whatcom. The Pirates are 1-1 in conference play and 9-5 overall.

Port Angeles Roughrider Wrestling coach Rob Gale was elated with the performance of the Roughriders at the 38-team tournament over the weekend at lakes High School. Thirteen wrestlers placed fifth or higher. The Roughriders as a team finished in fourth place. Bringing back hardware for the girls’ team were Natalie Johnson with a third-place finish. Zakara Braun, Faye Dachs and Kennedy Bruch brought back fifth place finishes. For the boys, Cash Coleman, Phoenix Flores and Jake Harrelson all had second place medals. Third place medals went to Raymond Rodriquez, Sean Lyman, Zack Gavin, Tom Arand, Lance Menes and Zach Miller. The Roughriders travel to Poulsbo tomorrow night for a 6 pm match with North Kitsap.

Congratulations to Port Angeles Roughrider Teagen Clark a member of the fast pitch team. Clark will sign a National Letter of Intent to play fast pitch for the Skagit Valley Cardinals in Mount Vernon Washington. The ceremony will take place at 3 pm today at the Port Angeles High School Student Center. Roughrider Fast pitch coach Randy Steinman will be the Master of Ceremonies.
