PORT ANGELES – A Port Angeles man has been arrested for a number of alleged crimes after a series of events in Port Angeles.

Monday morning, Port Angeles Police officers responded to a report of domestic violence at a local gas station/convenience store.  The suspect fled before officers arrived, but camera footage, witness and victim statements helped officers develop probable cause to arrest 30-year-old Richard James Huber.

Then yesterday morning police and fire units were called to the area near Chambers and 7th on a report of a vehicle with a possibly impaired driver that had reportedly rolled backward, rolled into a curb and was obstructing traffic.   Huber was found to be in the driver’s seat and behind the steering wheel.

Police say they’ve linked Huber to several ongoing cases and investigations. Huber was arrested on probable cause for a number of felonies.   Officers say they recovered stolen property that was connected to other burglary investigations.  Huber was transported and booked into the Clallam County Jail on robbery, burglary, theft of stolen property, assault and malicious mischief charges.
