PORT ANGELES – The Port of Port Angeles, Clallam County EDC and the State Department of Commerce announced that Stabicraft, an international recreational boat builder headquartered in New Zealand, has chosen to locate its manufacturing facility in Port Angeles.

The 30-year-old company says the expansion into Port Angeles comes as a result of increased orders in the North American market due to its reputation for high-performing offshore boats.

Stabicraft has leased an existing 16,000+-square-foot facility at the Port of Port Angeles Airport Industrial Park for its North America manufacturing facility and is expected to commence operations here at the beginning of 2022.

To start, the Stabicraft facility is expected to employ approximately a dozen employees with the intention of increasing 30-40 employees over the next 3-5 years. They are New Zealand’s largest boat building company, with 160 employees producing over 1000 boats per year.

David Glen, CEO of Stabicraft, said their decision to locate in Port Angeles demonstrates the confidence the company has in our workforce and business climate.
