SEQUIM – The Sequim School District begins advertising for a new school superintendent this week.

The district has hired Human Capital Enterprises to assist in the search to fill the top administrator job after interim Superintendent Jane Pryne announced she will leave the end of this month.

The district expects to post the position by Thursday this week .

The district has been operating under an interim superintendent for more than a year. The previous superintendent Robert Clark was on administrative leave effective in late 2020. He then resigned in January of this year in the wake of a sex discrimination lawsuit brough against him and the district.

Pryne had been tabbed as interim since late 2020, but she announced her resignation last month.

The timeline outlined by the search firm, would tentatively have the district naming a new superintendent in March next year. There’s no word on who will serve in the role until then, as the assistant superintendent remains on leave after alleging retaliation made against her by Pryne.
