OLYMPIC NATIONAL PARK – The Hurricane Ridge Ski and Snowboard Area is having an Opening Day Contest and the winner will get two all-day lift tickets.

Last week, when there was over 30 inches of snow on the ground up on the Ridge, it appeared to ski club officials they would open on time this season, which would have been December 5.

But after 10 inches of rain from the atmospheric river that plowed through western Washington this week, now they’re not so sure.

With that in mind, they’re having a “Guess What Day and Just How Deep” contest, now under way.

Go to the Hurricane Ridge Ski and Snowboard Area Facebook page or Instagram and enter your guess as to what day they will open and how much snow they will have at the snow stake at 9am on opening day in the comments section.

Again, the winners get 2 all-day lift tickets. There’ll be one winner on Facebook and one on Instagram. Tie goes to the first person to post the right guess.
