PORT ANGELES – A fifth person has died in Clallam County due to Covid-19.
Clallam County Health Officer Dr. Allison Berry says the 70-year-old woman with underlying conditions passed away earlier this week.
“This was really, actually a quite lovely woman in her 70s who had other underlying conditions. It was actually diagnosed a little while ago. It took a while for her to pass from her infection. She died on the first and we were notified yesterday, yesterday evening, so…”
Dr. Berry says the woman passed away at home after a long fight against the virus.
She was the first to succumb to the virus in Clallam County since December 1. The first death from Covid-19 here was in August of last year.
