MINERAL SPRINGS, WA – U.S. Marshals have joined in on search for a suspected killer who police believe is hiding in the woods of Kittitas County.

In what county officials are terming the “largest manhunt in county history,” police are combing the area looking for Jorge Alcantara-Gonzalez, who is suspected of killing Ian Eckles, a hunter from Kent, sometime in mid-May.

Deputies have evidence that Alcantara has been burglarizing homes in the area, and residents have been told to remain alert and cautious.

Closures of US Forest Service lands remain in effect

Alcantara-Gonzalez is considered armed and dangerous. A $5,000 reward is being offered for any information leading to his arrest.
