The Washington State Employment Security Department is asking people with questions about their claims to not call its toll-free numbers between today (May 13) and May 20, so that they can focus on making outbound calls to resolve issues for those who have been waiting longest to get their benefits.
Exceptions would be for people with limited ability to file online, those submitting weekly claims via phone, general questions not already answered on the department’s website, or anyone who needs a translator for help with their claim.
The request is part of the department’s “Operation 100%” — launched Monday — which aims to get all eligible Washingtonians their benefits as quickly as possible.
