Niko Tavernise/© 2019 Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc. All Rights Reserved(NEW YORK) — Joker, the new R-rated take on the Batman villain, opening nationwide on Friday, is shaping up to be Fandango’s biggest October pre-seller of all time, outpacing previous champs Venom and Halloween. 

According to a Fandango survey of 1,000 moviegoers, 93 percent said they couldn’t wait to see Joaquin Phoenix in the title role; 85 percent are looking forward to an “R-rated, grittier” DC movie; and 83 percent were excited to see more DC origin stories.
