Port Angeles – It’s time for the Port Angeles School District to start building a new middle school.

District officials announced Thursday the official groundbreaking ceremony for the new school will take place on Saturday, April 12 at 10:00 A.M. on the field behind the current school site, 1139 W 14th Street in Port Angeles.

This milestone marks the beginning of a long-awaited project made possible by the voters, who approved a Capital Levy in 2020 to fund the replacement of the aging middle school.

We’re all invited to join district leaders, city officials, students, families, and staff in celebrating the start of construction. The event will include remarks from district leadership, a ceremonial turning of the soil, and an opportunity to learn more about the plans for the new school.

Construction is set to begin this spring, with an anticipated opening date in 2027.
