Port Angeles – Port Angeles resident Mark Hodgson announced his candidacy for the Port Angeles City Council on Wednesday.
Hodgson will seek to replace Lindsey Schromen-Wawrin, who will not be seeking re-election in November for his Position 3, which is one of the four positions up for election this year.
Hodgson is a US Navy veteran, is employed by the Washington State Patrol, and currently serves on the boards of Habitat for Humanity and the Peninsula Dispute Resolution Center. He also has a seat on the City of Port Angeles Parks Commission, and in November was elected to the Charter Review Commission.
Hodgson, a father of two, was raised in Port Angeles, and says he is proud to have raised his own children here on the Olympic Peninsula. If elected to the City Council, he lists as his priorities ensuring public safety is supported, affordable housing policies are prioritized, and economic development is at the forefront of strategic planning.
Hodgson, who has received the endorsement of Councilmember Schromen-Wawrin, has set up a campaign website at MarkHodgson.org.
