Sequim – Grey Wolf Elementary School in Carlsborg went into a brief lockdown Tuesday as police attempted to arrest a suspect who had fled on foot.
Sequim Police Chief Mike Hill told KONP that 36-year-old Jamie Spence was spotted by a citizen in the area of Big 5 Sporting Goods and called police, who responded along with help from Clallam County Sheriff’s Office.
Hill says Spence ran from police and jumped fences. And although he was not known to be armed or a threat to others, due to the proximity of Greywolf Elementary School, the Sequim Police Department’s School Resource Officer notified school officials of the activity in the area and they went into a brief lockdown.
Spence was apprehended soon after and booked into the Clallam County Jail on a felony bench warrant, a failure to appear warrant, and possession of stolen property.
