Forks – We have an update on a story we published in October about two totem poles that were stolen from the Quileute Tribe’s 101 Building in Forks. The artifacts were valued at $10,000 each.
On Thursday, Detective Cody Anderson of the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office followed a lead in the theft investigation that led him to a home in Kitsap County.
While at the house, Detective Anderson located the stolen totem poles, recovered them and returned them to the Quileute Tribe.
Chief Criminal Deputy Amy Bundy reports that while the investigation is still ongoing into the theft, the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office would like to recognize Detective Anderson for his efforts in returning the totem poles to the people of La Push.
