PORT ANGELES — Travelers on US 101 and the Truck Route near Port Angeles should expect delays from next week due to scheduled lane and ramp closures for pavement repairs and a fish barrier removal project.

Starting Monday, crews will begin preparations for an upcoming 80-day closure on US 101 near Tumwater Creek. Work will take place from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Friday, Feb. 28, with one-way alternating traffic between West Nicholas Road and the Black Diamond Road overpass. There will also be daytime closures of the ramp from 101 to the Truck Route eastbound and single lane closures on the Truck Route on Wednesday next week.

Beginning Sunday night, crews will install traffic cameras at three intersections along US 101 east of Port Angeles, causing single-lane closures from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. each night through Feb. 27. Work locations include:

  • Westbound US 101 at East Kolonels Way
  • Westbound US 101 at South Brook Avenue
  • Eastbound US 101 at South Golf Course Road
