The Port Angeles Roughrider girls staged a late-game comeback, using three-pointers to secure a 46-41 win over the No. 6 seed North Mason Bulldogs. The Bulldogs led by five points midway through the fourth quarter, with Adrianne Tupolo dominating the game and finishing with 23 points.
However, clutch three-pointers by Lindsay Smith and Teanna Clark turned the tide for the Roughriders. Lindsay Smith led Port Angeles with 14 points, while 6’0″ senior Lexie Smith was a force in the paint, adding 13 points, including seven free throws.
Additional contributions came from:
- Teanna Clark: 6 points
- Kenzie Moses: 3 points (one three-pointer)
- Becca Manson and Cayleigh Alward: 2 points each
- Morgan Politika: 1 point (free throw)
The Roughriders advance to a semifinal matchup with No. 2 seed Eatonville (20-3), who dominated No. 7 seed Clover Park 75-35. Tip-off is Thursday night at 5:00 p.m. at Foss High School, with the game broadcast live on KONP Newsradio.

Boys District Action Tonight
In boys basketball, co-Olympic League champion Sequim (17-3), the No. 3 seed, hosts No. 11 seed Foss (9-13), the fifth-place team from the South Puget Sound League. The Falcons narrowly lost to North Kitsap by four points early in the season but recently defeated No. 6 seed North Mason 61-59.
Tonight’s game will be broadcast live on KONP Newsradio, with the Les Schwab Tires Pre-Game Show at 5:45 p.m. and tip-off at 6:00 p.m. The winner will face the victor of the No. 2 seed Franklin Pierce vs. No. 10 seed Olympic matchup in the semifinals Friday night at Foss High School.

Port Angeles Swimmers Shine at District Meet
The Port Angeles Roughriders swim team had a strong showing at the district meet, finishing in third place overall.

Peninsula Pirates Hit the Road for NWAC Basketball
In NWAC basketball tonight, the Peninsula Pirates travel to Skagit Valley for a doubleheader. The Pirate men face the No. 1 ranked Cardinals at 5:00 p.m., followed by the No. 3 ranked Pirate women at 7:00 p.m.
Pirates’ 6’3″ post Alecsis Smith from Bay City, Michigan, is back on the court for the third-ranked Pirates as they take on Skagit Valley tonight.
