SEQUIM — The Sequim City Council voted to appoint Kelly Burger to fill the open position on the Council at Monday’s meeting.
Burger fills the seat vacated by Kathy Downer who resigned in January for personal reasons. He will serve until the results of this November’s election are certified and voters will decide who will complete the term ending December 31, 2027.
The City Council decided after interviewing eight candidates. Burger was sworn into office by City Clerk Heather Robley at the meeting.
Burger has lived in the City of Sequim for over six years.
