SEQUIM — The Sequim City Council will hold special meetings this coming Monday, February 3, and Thursday, January 6 at 5:00 p.m. at the Sequim Civic Center to conduct interviews with applicants for the vacant seat on the Council.

It is anticipated that the Council will appoint a new member at the regular meeting on Monday, February 10. If a decision is made that evening, the new member will begin serving after taking the oath of office.

The City Council position is vacant due to the resignation of Councilor Kathy Downer for personal reasons. By Washington State Law, the City Council is required to fill a vacant position within 90 days of the vacancy.
