Port Angeles – Civic Field in Port Angeles, home of the Roughriders and the Lefties, is getting a new state-of-the-art video scoreboard.
Parks and Recreation Director Corey Delikat said the new board, at a cost of just under $700,000, has been ordered after being approved by City Council, and it should arrive sometime this week. And, with the help of the manufacturer and local contractors, Delikat says installation of the project should be completed by April.
The pricey project was funded through a State Commerce grant of $582,000 thanks to a one-time “Minor League Baseball Publicly Owned Stadium Improvement Fund”, signed by the Governor, that distribute a total of $24 million to 11 community stadiums, including our very own Civic Field. That grant was combined with
$120,000 from the City’s Lodging Tax Capital funds to cover the total cost.
