Four hurt in crash east of Port Angeles

PORT ANGELES  — A two-vehicle collision Sunday evening on Lewis Road and US 101 left four people injured, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The crash occurred around 5:17 p.m. when a Ford Excursion traveling northbound on Lewis Road failed to yield at a stop sign. The SUV was struck by a Chevrolet K2500 traveling eastbound on US 101. The impact caused the Ford to come to rest in the parking lot of a nearby grocery store, while the Chevrolet blocked a westbound lane of US 101.

The SUV’s 34-year-old driver Mary J. Weber was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center with serious injuries. Two passengers in her vehicle, 38-year-old Maria E. Miller and 10-year-old Kahyla M. Miller, were transported to Olympic Medical Center for treatment. All occupants were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.

The pickup’s 63-year-old driver Edward J. Little was also injured and transported privately to Olympic Medical Center. His condition has not been disclosed.

Both vehicles were totaled in the crash. Authorities confirmed no drugs or alcohol were involved.

The incident remains under investigation.
