Blyn, Wash. – This coming Saturday, December 7, the Port Angeles Marathon Association will host the fifth race in the Run the Peninsula Series along the Olympic Discovery Trail, starting in Sequim.
At 4:30 pm, the sold out event of over 600 participants will run and walk west on the ODT before switching directions at the 5K and 10K turnarounds and head back east towards the Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe.
The Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe 5K/10K has been permitted by Clallam County to control traffic where the trail intersects with county roads, effectively giving pedestrians right-of-way for the race. Organizers ask that drivers be prepared to stop for participants between 4:30pm till 6:30pm.
Because the event takes place after dusk, participants are required to wear a headlamp or some other type of lighting device.
Proceeds from this event go to several local organizations including the Peninsula Trails Coalition who build and maintain the trail.
