CARLSBORG – A violent attempted robbery of the AM/PM store in Carlsborg Friday night ended with the arrest of two men and a third suspect still being sought.

On Friday, shortly after 5:30 p.m., Clallam County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a robbery in-progress at the AM/PM store and gas station. A clerk was assaulted by two customers and sustained minor injuries from the attack.

During the assault, an AM/PM manager walked out of his office to find his employee being attacked by one black male and one white male. The suspects fled the store and drove eastbound on Highway 101 in what was described as a red sedan with black wheels and dark tinted windows.

Their car was spotted by a Sequim Police Sergeant on the Highway near 7th Avenue in Sequim. During the pursuit, the suspects drove at speeds of 110 m.p.h. and into oncoming traffic while passing other vehicles. The Sergeant ended the pursuit due to safety concerns.

The suspect’s vehicle was eventually located at the Sequim Bay State Park by a Trooper with the State Patrol. Responding units set up containment in the area and members from the Crisis Response Team responded by deploying a drone equipped with night vision and heat signature detection. The drone located the suspects hiding in a wooded area not far from where they parked their car.

Arrested were 30-year-old Julian Treat of Seattle and 28-year-old Joshua Pulliam of Lakewood. Suspected fentanyl pills and a small amount of suspected meth were found in their possession.

The investigation revealed there was a third suspect involved in the robbery but never participated in the attack on the store clerk. The identity of the third suspect is still unknown.

Treat and Pulliam were booked into the Clallam County Jail for Robbery 1st Degree, and Treat was also booked for Possession of Controlled Substance.
