PORT ANGELES – Construction of a new middle school in Port Angeles is set to start sometime next year.
The Port Angeles School Board received an update last week on when construction will begin for the new Stevens Middle School. FORMA Construction, hired in March to lead the project, confirmed that construction is expected to start in July 2025. However, the exact start date depends on the collection of the $52.6 million in capital levy funds.
FORMA plans to begin early bidding for the project in March 2025, followed by main bidding in May. The final design of the school will be ready by spring 2025, with most of the work projected to be completed by 2027.
The next step in the process is an outreach event hosted by FORMA on October 24 at the Red Lion Hotel. The event will provide local businesses with details about the bidding process and the construction timeline.
