JOYCE  – A single-vehicle collision on State Route 112 early this morning left three individuals injured, with two airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. The crash occurred around 3:23 AM near Dempsey Road, westbound on SR112.

According to the Washington State Patrol, a silver 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee left the roadway, jumping a driveway, striking a tree, and rolling before coming to rest upside down in a ditch. All three occupants were not wearing seatbelts.

The injured include 57-year-old Stephen D. Blake, who was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center, and 28-year-old Cierra D. Stratfull, who was also airlifted to the same facility. Forty-two-year-old Jason M. Rutherford was transported to Olympic Medical Center by aid.

The exact cause of the crash remains under investigation, although Troopers say driving under the influence may have contributed. No charges have been filed yet.
