PORT ANGELES – Give the Port Angeles Roughriders the first win of Rivalry Week by defeating Sequim in tennis, 6-1.
The only win for the Wolves came in singles action, where Lincoln Bear defeated Sky Gelder 6-2, 6-4. Tate Allen beat Jack Crecelius 6-3, 6-1, and Garrett Buerer beat Mason Rapelje 6-4, 6-4.
In doubles, Luke Flodstrom and Nathan Basden swept Isaac McKeen and Zack Post 6-0, 6-0. Austin Worthington and Keatyn Hoch beat Ryan Stites and Wyatt Perez 6-0, 6-0. Carter Gunderson and Carson Seibel defeated Lucas Enges and Ian Baylon 6-2, 6-0, and Liam Miller and Zach Neff beat Bjorn Henrickson and Josh Loucks 6-1, 6-4.
In tennis action today, Port Angeles is at Olympic and Sequim is at North Kitsap, with both matches starting at 4:00 p.m.

In soccer, 2-2 Port Angeles faces 4-0 North Kitsap, while 1-2 Sequim takes on 0-4 Olympic. Both matches kick off at 7:00 p.m.

In volleyball, 0-4 Port Angeles plays at 4-1 North Kitsap, and 2-2 Sequim is at Olympic. Both matches begin at 6:30 p.m.

Both the Sequim Wolves and Port Angeles Roughriders football teams have extra incentive to win their big rivalry game this Friday night. Sequim had won seven in a row until the Roughriders claimed a convincing victory last year in Sequim. KONP will broadcast the game Friday night, and has announced that the winner will have their game broadcast the following Friday night. Port Angeles will play at North Kitsap, and Sequim will play at Bremerton a week from Friday.
The Roughriders will need big games from Roughrider defensive End Rylan Politika #88 and Linebacker Braydon Wopperer #36 Friday night against Sequim
