
PORT ANGELES — In high school soccer action, the Port Angeles Roughriders played a tough match against state power Bainbridge, ultimately falling 2-0. In last year’s opener, Bainbridge won 5-0. The Spartans scored at the 11-minute mark and added another goal later in the half on a penalty shot. Roughrider Head Coach Brian Horton praised goalkeeper Kennedy Ronglien for nearly saving the penalty and for keeping the team in the game, though the Roughriders struggled to create quality scoring opportunities. The Roughriders will host Olympic tomorrow night.
The Sequim Wolves defeated North Mason 5-0, with Sasha Yada and Raimey Brewer each scoring twice and Kiley Winter adding another goal. The Wolves will host Bainbridge tomorrow night.
