VICTORIA BC — Three relatively large earthquakes struck off the coast of Vancouver Island.
This morning a 6.4 magnitude hit just after 8 o’clock along the Juan De Fuca Ridge, about 130 miles west of Tofino, British Columbia, Canada. Then an hour later another quake at 5.4 on the Richter scale hit in the same area. A third quake measuring 4.9 hit about 10:30 Thursday morning.
There are no reports of any damage, and no tsunami was formed.
The seismic activity is part of what has been a swarm of quakes that have rattled that part of the Juan de Fuca Ridge the past few weeks.
