BLYN – Efforts to remove fish barriers under US 101 in Clallam County have reached a milestone. Since last winter, travelers have used a temporary two-lane bypass road around a work zone in Blyn. Major work at Chicken Coop Creek is now complete, and both lanes of US 101 have reopened.

Continued work activities are expected, but most major tasks are finished. Similar progress is anticipated near Sequim, where a two-lane bypass road is currently in use. Crews aim to reopen both lanes later this month, weather permitting.

This project is part of a broader initiative to remove fish barriers. The traffic tie ups are far from finished in the next year, similar fish barrier projects will get underway where Highway 101 crosses creeks just east and west of Port Angeles.
