
PORT ANGELES – The Port Angeles Chamber of Commerce revealed the winners of the 2024 4th of July Parade today. The parade, themed “Building Resilience, Building Community,” featured 56 entries judged on workmanship, design, general effect, theme, and costume and casting.
The Port Angeles City Ballet won first place in the Outstanding Float category, followed by Grocery Outlet in second, and Clallam County Fair Royalty in third. The Port Angeles High School Alumni Marching Band took first place in the Musical Entry category, with Ghostlight Productions in second. Concerned Citizens secured first place for Thematic Entry, while 4PA came in second.
Steve Methner and the Dream Playground Foundation served as the Parade Grand Marshal. Edna Petersen and Scooter Chapman announced from the main stage, while Tim Tucker and Shannon Cosgrove handled announcements on the Oak Street stage. The U.S. Coast Guard Air Station Port Angeles kicked off the parade with a helicopter flyover at 6:00 pm.
