PORT ANGELES – Rite Aid, which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in October and has continued to close many of its stores across the country, has just announced it will close one of its two stores in Port Angeles.

The latest round of closures in the month of June includes 55 stores, all but three of them in Ohio and Michigan. One of those three is the location at the mall at 1940 E. First Street. The store at 621 S. Lincoln near Goodwill will remain open.

Since filing for bankruptcy, Rite Aid, based in Philadelphia, has been restructuring to significantly reduce its debt.

Since October, the company has announced in bankruptcy filings the closings of 512 stores.
