SEQUIM — The Sequim Wolves went deep into the heart of football-crazy Texas to find their new Athletic Director and Head Football Coach.

Ian Henley, who has been coaching football for nearly 30 years, has been the Associate Head Football Coach and Special Teams Coach at Timber Creek High School in Fort Worth, Texas.

Henley replaces Erik Wiker, who had been the Wolves’ coach for 14 years.

Timber Creek has an enrollment of 3,140 students in its high school, with 250 student-athletes in the Timber Creek football program. The Falcons have produced athletes such as Texas Tech and Miami Dolphins receiver Erik Ezukanma and New York Mets baseball player Mateo Gil. The Falcons went 7-4 last year with a very tough schedule.

Henley graduated from Eldorado High School in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where he played football and baseball.

Henley is married to his wife Jessica of seven years, and they have a four-year-old son, Reece.

The Wolves open the 2024 season on September 6th at home against Forks and travel on September 20th to Elma. The Wolves are still looking for an opponent for week #2.
