Meet Sequim’s new Community and Economic Development Director

SEQUIM — The City of Sequim has a new Community and Economic Development Director. Lindsey Sehmel steps into her new role as of May 28.

Sehmel has over 17 years of experience in urban planning and community development in Washington and Oregon, including her role as Community Development Director in Lincoln City, where she led numerous initiatives to enhance urban planning, environmental sustainability, and economic development.

In addition to planning roles in Gig Harbor, Puyallup, and Bremerton, she served as the Service Planning Assistant Manager for Pierce Transit.

Sehmel has an Executive Masters of Public Administration from the University of Washington Evans School of Public Policy and Governance and a Bachelor of Arts in Urban Studies from the University of Washington, and is certified by the American Institute of Certified Planners.
