SEQUIM – A Sequim woman has been arrested for animal cruelty.
51-year-old Angela Jacobsen was taken into custody yesterday by Clallam County Sheriff’s deputies after a search of her Toad Road residence. Deputies acted after information late last that Jacobsen was in possession of several animals that were suffering from extreme neglect at her residence.
Deputies with the assistance of Center Valley Animal Rescue, Clallam County Humane Society and numerous volunteers recovered 15 dogs; 2 cats; a pig; and 222 poultry, ducks, and geese. Jacobsen was booked on 2nd degree animal cruelty.
It’s the second time Jacobsen has faced a case of possible animal cruelty. On December 31, 2021, Clallam County Sheriff’s Office responded to a similar report at her Sequim residence. In early 2022 authorities served multiple search warrants and seized more than 200 poultry, 27 dogs, 2 ferrets, a goat and an emu.
The animals were under weight, and most had other ailments from improper housing. That case was referred to the state Attorney General’s Office and criminal charges are still pending.
